Sharpening and Care / Re: Ken Onion WorkSharp

Just as a demonstration , I turned a butter knife into a razor sharp steak knife in four minutes .

I've tried other sharpening systems and nothing is easier or quicker .

Hey Nick , thanks for the welcome .

The site is mainly about flashlights , but we also discuss knives and other EDC gear .

Wow, that is a nice looking machine. I had never heard of it before.

It might be worth it for accurate and easy convex grinds. I have done some by hand but I have trouble getting them accurate. I need to show my knives more regular use so I can practice sharpening more often  :)

Awesome! And welcome to the forum. If you don't mind me asking, how did you find us?

We would welcome reviews and pictures of any and all of those. I have a few reviews I need to get published myself. Perhaps then there will actually be something to look at around here!

Sharpening and Care / Ken Onion WorkSharp
« Last post by jacktheclipper on March 10, 2016, 11:02:48 am »
I got a Ken Onion Worksharp recently and I finally found a quick and easy way to keep all of my tools sharp .
I have used it on every knife in the house , a machete , a hatchet , and my lawnmower blades .
The convex edge seems to last longer than a beveled edge , and slicing is much easier .
I'm push cutting things like never before .
Although the KO WorkSharp is a bit pricey , I think it was money well spent .

Hi I'm Moose.
Live in the UK and although have a few relatively expensive knives, budget folders and  high value for money fixed blades are generally what feed my cutlery itch:
Sanrenmu, Ganzo, Navy, Mora, Saks.... I also have a few really good (and a couple of bad) clones.

Used to have much love for Benchmade and Spyderco but their prices these days......

So I found myself searching for fellow cutlery enthusiasts who shared my reluctance to be left feeling gouged in the name of uber steels and brand cachet.

Great idea, well done and thank you Nick for setting this space up I really hope it takes off.

When I get better at taking pictures I shall post a few thoughts on some of my collection.

Moose
